Password Requirements Changing

In the near future, you will be required to set up “strong” passwords for Home Banking. A strong password contains a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, and they typically contain seven characters or more. Members will also be prompted to change passwords after a certain length of time to maintain security.

Even though strong passwords are not yet required, it is a good idea to use this formula as a guide for all of your passwords. Given enough encrypted data, time, and computing power, attackers can compromise almost any cryptographic system. You can prevent such attackers from succeeding by making the task of cracking the password as difficult as possible. Two key strategies to accomplish this are to set strong passwords and to change passwords periodically. By changing passwords periodically attackers do not have sufficient time to crack the complex encryption code.
